VEST

This vest is constructed using a hobnail bedspread, also known as a Martha Washington bedspread, and a thrifted men's casual shirt. The Martha Washington bedspread was fashioned after the bedspread George Washington gave to his wife Martha as a wedding gift. The modern version debuted in the 1940's.

The vest features a contrast yoke, patch pockets, zip front and is finished inside using couture techniques.  The beautiful pattern on the bedspread really enhances the unique style of this vest.  A really beautiful piece!
